About Tiffany Brooks
Tiffany Brooks is a seasoned attorney, legal strategist, and lifelong public servant with over 20 years of experience spanning law, government, education, finance, and community development. Her career reflects a deep commitment to justice, equity, and ethical leadership—values she’s ready to bring to the bench.
Tiffany currently serves as First Deputy Commissioner of the City of Chicago Business Affairs. Prior to that she served as Chief of Staff for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County—the second-largest unified court system in the nation—where she oversaw nearly 1,400 employees. She has also served as General Counsel for the office, leading on matters of legal compliance, employee relations, labor negotiations, and internal policy. Her work in this role has earned her top ratings from multiple bar associations and the respect of peers throughout the legal community.
Before her work in the courts, Tiffany held senior roles in city government, including Assistant Commissioner of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, where she worked directly with elected officials, small businesses, and community stakeholders across Chicago. Her legal practice has included both civil and criminal litigation, and she is also known as a contract and policy expert.
Tiffany’s commitment to justice doesn’t end at the courtroom. She’s a former adjunct professor of constitutional law and race relations, and an active community leader. Her service includes hosting expungement clinics, mentoring law students, and serving on boards such as the South Side Community Federal Credit Union, Holy Trinity True Divine Temple, and the Common Ground Foundation.
